Hmmmm. I'm starting to doubt that your readers are above average, as you suggested recently.

All the double posts and the joker that said that 51% of the population have last names from A-M, while 28.5% are in the N-Z range, have tipped me off. I guess the other 20.5% have names that begin with a digit.

Oh, I wish this were true. My last name starts with 'Ab', so I guess it didn't really work for me. (and it SUCKS to be the first kid taking the exam all the time...)
The successful person I thought of had a name starting with 'S', too. (Emerson Spartz - founder of mugglenet)

Kelly

Jesus Christ

I thought of Will Smith, my favorite recording artist growing up, and now a fantastically successful actor. Sorry, but he breaks the pattern. Even under his original alias, "The Fresh Prince," his "last name" would be Prince, I guess, so that's still in the second half.

My second choice would be Wierd Al Yankovich, which is almost as far down the alphabet as you can go.

What's wrong with me? Is the universe going to realize I don't fit the pattern and correct the flaw by making me trip in front of a cement mixer?

Rick Sykes

I initially thought of Richard Stallman, another choice might be Linus Torvalds, both of whose surnames begin with characters in the second half of the alphabet.

Singh

This works for you doesnt it scott *A*DAMS ;)

I chose someone whose last name begins with "V" . . . only because I know he has money. But I'm in a highly Dutch area with lots of "van-whatever" people.
